Metamorphosis
is actually not a "band" in the true sense
of the word, but rather a pure soloproject . Though
all the instuments on the albums are played by one
single person, it is also represented by a real liveact.
Metamorphosis
was founded in 1993 by Boris Ascher, who had learned
after many years in diverse undergroundbands to play
all the instruments by himself. The first Demotape
released in `94 under the title “Life is just
a joke” gained a lot of positive resonance around
the world.
In 1997 Metamorphosis contributed to the “Out
of the Box”Vol.1 Compilation CD of the famous
swedish label Black Mark Productions with an appearance
of the song "Forever damned to eternity".
The
first full-length CD “Through the gate of dreams”
came out in 1998. Recorded at the excellent Munich
Amazonas studio it results in a varied, clear and
powerful production, which sounds like a true liveband.
The album gained a lot of fine reviews in the international
musicpress and undergroundscene and even helped Metamorphosis
to some successful live-shows too.
The
second full-length album “Nocturnal Rhymes”
was released for the first time in 2001. The included
eight songs were composed with a special care for
the transposition of live performances later on. Hence
there are some compositions on it that can not be
omitted at a Metamorphosis show.
Since
Dez. 2003 the album "Gnosis Diabolo" is
available. It is an over 60 minutes philosophic, satanic
musical document. There was a strong use of diverse
electronic instruments on it. Also it contains some
experimental ambient tracks. It was the first production
out of the house-own The Dungeon Studio.
Further
available is a reissue of the "Nocturnal Rhymes"
album with new artwork. These two issues also represent
the first releases of the label The Devil`s Ground
Productions.
On
August 13th 2007 the brand-new album "Creation
in reverse" will be officialy released through
The Devils Ground. It contains eleven new well-devised
compositions in the accustomed black magical manner.
The lyrical concept as well as the artwork (modelled
on Michelangelo) largely deals with creation and destruction
on a metaphysical level.
